Our newborn elephant calf is an important addition to the European breeding programme for the species – which in the wild are threatened by illegal wildlife trade, habitat fragmentation and climate change.

Over a two year period we took more than 30,000 thermal images of the elephants at Whipsnade Zoo for this ground-breaking conservation initiative to help people live alongside elephants.
