Come face-to-face with the tallest mammal in the world at the Giraffe platform! Our custom built enclosure offers a high level viewing platform, allowing you to get closer than ever to these amazing creatures.
In 2024 we welcomed two 7-ft tall new arrivals! This is the first time in over 30 years that we have had two infant giraffes at the same time.
These important additions to the conservation breeding programme have already ventured outside into the paddock. Visitors will be able to see them galloping around the paddock together from the many viewing areas at Giraffe Heights.
Our two new reticulated giraffe calves join the growing herd at Giraffe Heights, alongside:
- Luna, mother of the new male giraffe calf
- Ijuma, mother of the female giraffe calf
- Bashu, father of both new giraffe calves

Giraffes have the same number of neck bones as people, their heart beats twice as fast as human's and they stand at 2 metres tall as new a new born giraffe.
