Join us as we celebrate 'Love Your Zoo' week at Whipsnade Zoo
This Spring we’re taking part in national ‘Love Your Zoo Week’, celebrated by zoos and aquariums across Britain and Ireland.
We’ll be taking the week to celebrate what makes our Zoos special, from extinct-in-the wild species and their recovery programmes, to a native species habitat at Whipsnade Zoo.
Get stuck in with craft-making activities where you will have the opportunity to create items that will help nurture the wildlife within your own garden!
Test your knowledge with Keeper Q&As and themed talks throughout the week – learn more about some of the incredible animals within the Zoo and the conservation efforts to protect their futures.
Try your luck with Animal Bingo and other mini competitions for a chance to win exciting prizes!
Also happening during ‘Love Your Zoo’ week:
- Conservation Station
- Sensory Spaces
All activities are included within the cost of your Zoo entry ticket or membership.
Encouraging biodiversity with No Mow May
This May, we are proud to be supporting the movement to leave your grass verges unmown to help enourage biodiversity. We are a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), which means that in addition to our thousands of animals, we have invertebrates and other native mammals that call our grounds home. There is so much you can do to encourage nature to make your garden it's home. Join us - ditch the lawnmower this spring and see what fascinating invertebrates come to visit you!
