It's spring and our bears have awoken! Join us at Whipsnade Zoo for our Bear Weekend!
Join us on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 May for a whole weekend celebrating our European brown bears, from talks, activities, quizzes, and crafts, there's fun for all the family.
Why are we celebrating Bear Weekend?
Bears have a long history in European Folklore, as well as being a keystone species in European ecosystems. Healthy bear numbers are a sign of a healthy, productive forest environment, rich in herbs, mushrooms, forest fruits and wild animal. Whilst we no longer have bears in the UK, ZSL is working to restoring habitats and protecting important species such as the European brown bear. Learn more about how we look after our bears and the conservation work we do to protect this magnificent species.
Where will our Bear Weekend activities* take place?
Our Bear Gazebo and activities will be located on the main lawn behind the Birds of the World arena. Talks, feeds, and Keeper Q&A's will be located by the bear habitat in Europe.
What activities are taking place and when?
Over the weekend we have a whole array of activities all to do with bears including bear crafts and a free quiz with a chance to win prizes.
